NO !
There are some that actually have a cord attached AND
There are some that are energized by battery power -- often rechargeable. (currently termed cordless)
There are also the good old reliable manual tool - steel with a wood or plastic handle -- the Original cordless.

I think in the last year, I have probably used a screwdriver no more than 6 times. I've relied on the good old faithful manual tool, which are over 20 years old.
I have an older corded drill with driver bits I've used in previous years when I've had to drive many screws -- drywall.
I've also used a cordless (battery powered) drill/driver for same -- these are hard to beat for portability and convenience if you have to turn a lot of screws--or later need to drill.

The Cordless Screwdriver (as commonly termed today) is smaller and less versatile than a drill/driver.
For the life of me, I can't figure how they sell so many of them--as if it is so hard to turn a screw. If a screw will be hard to turn, then this is not the optimal tool.

Cordless is a tool that does not have a cord to plug into an outlet for it's electric energy, almost all tools now can be cordless, hand saws, drills, etc. most cordless tools come with a charging unit that charges up your batteries that are made to fit your special tool. Have a nice day. Merry Christmas to all.
