If it pops out of ANY gear, it's the syncros. If it's 2 or 3, then the trani is going. Most tranis the first gear to go is second, because that is the gear most shifted into. Sometimes 5th will go first. If you step on the gas hard, and it pops out, then it's probably the motor mounts.

OK, the first two are probably right. But check your motor mounts first. A loose or broken mount could cause it to jump out of gear.

is it hard to get into gear (mostly 1st and reverse) If so the synchronizer might be going bad.
