It all depends, if you have an old CD-ROM, then you will have problems reading the discs.. The other thing as well is how you burned the cd. If it's a CD-RW, you'll need a CD-RW Drive in your Win98 computer to even read the disc. Last but not least is if you used multisessioning and didn't close the session on the disc, while alot of computers will read that disc, your Win98 machine won't.

Your win98 machine probably has a very old cdrom that can not read burned disks. Try getting a new cdrom for it. They are very cheap.
