I like the Story of Cariboo (John) Cameron. He was a prospector that struck it rich, but alas his wife died. He had an interesting time getting her body to Kingston. Do a search, you'll find him.

Then there is the story of Sam Steele of the Mounties. There is a story about him and Sitting Bull. After he wiped out Custer, Sitting Bull moved his tribe to Canada. Sam Steele rode into the camp alone and said to Sitting Bull. "If you keep the laws of Canada you can stay, but if you break our laws we will do to you the same as you did to Custer. He then turned and got on his horse and left.

Maybe you would like to know about the Canadian Pacific Railroad. It is said that while laying track, in one day, six miles of track were put in place.
