Yes, recurring dreams are very common. The two most common topics are: losing your teeth (they can break, fall out on their own) and forgetting to go to class or a final exam/getting lost and not finding the right building at school.
I've been able to change the course of recurring dreams by thinking about them during the day. Think of the dream from beginning to end, but instead of letting it play out the way it usually does, make changes to make it nicer or less scary.
For example, when I was little I always dreamed I was playing in the front yard when a witch would come over and try to make me eat poison. I couldn't talk and the front door was locked, and my mom didn't answer the doorbell because she was busy in the kitchen and thought I was just messing around. I finally changed the dream by "daydreaming" that my mom did answer to door, and she was holding fresh chocolate chip cookies and scared away the witch.

Completely normal. It is most likely resulting from something that is on your mind during the day or just before you go to sleep. The dreams re-occur because of the monotonous activities that everyone goes through everyday.
Sometime to help myself sleep, I'll create scenarios in my mind recounting the days activities, and it often leads to re-occurring dreams. Usually just tells me that I need to start doing things differently.
Or you could be obsessing over something. Without specifics, it would be hard to determine how you could stop it. Medication should be considered a last resort.

Its ok to have repeated dreams, I have repeated dreams too. Mainly the dreams I repeat through night, tells me something that I haven't finished or didnt set goals. Dreams is often about what you experience, and they try to give you a message. Sometimes you don't dream at all or dont remember your dreams its no expectations. All dreams come out the way it is, and some you may control, but then later on you can't. Its nature.

Don't worry, it is normal. I've experienced the same thing.
Try to find out the meaning of the part in your dreams, that keeps repeating itself. Maybe it's an answer to something in your life.
OR, you may be thinking and worrying about someone/something; in that case try to clear your mind, and try to drink chamomile tea, before you go to bed.
Another reason could be horror... movies/books; if that's the case stop reading/watching them.
I hope I helped.... GOOD LUCK!

I think it's normal. At least it happens to me a lot. It's usually the result of something being unresolved in your life such as a conflict. Good luck figuring it out.
