I would accept a female president. But just for running she doesn't get any free points in my book. She doesn't get out of being a bad leader just because she's a woman. No special treatment.

Though, of the current selection of possible female candidates I hope none run. Hillary is too left for my tastes and Condi is on Bush's side too far. We need a moderate female president. To do what women usually do in social life: KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO THINGS. We can't, however, have some looney woman in office if she's going to divide the country more than it already is.

Well, to tell you the truth, Noelle, I have this whole pre-concieved notion that a man should be in charge of the country.

I have really done some soul searching, and I can only think of a few reasons why.

1) A woman has never run the country (but not that they cant).
2) Biblically speaking, a man is the head of the house.
3) PMS week could be detrimental to society as we know it.

While all of these things are true, I think that all of them can be overcome (the last only with medication-jk) I think that I could overcome my stupid preconceived notions and accept a woman as president.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a sit back and take it kind of gal. I have worked my butt off in my life and have done lots of things that would be considered non traditional in the eyes of many. I have worked road construction, driven truck, been an engineering technician and finally, almost an engineer. I believe in freedom of choice for occupation and I don't ever underestimate the power of a woman.

I think that I could support a woman as President. She definitely wouldn't get any slack in my book. She would have to uphold the same code of ethics as every other President.

I would never vote for Hillary. I think that she is a Socialist Pompous Windbag that doesn't deserve the Presidency. I would even more never vote for that two faced crazy person Nancy Pelosi. She doesn't even believe in what she supports. But I think that Condoleezza Rice has some potential. She is very smart and has lots of education, does not play the race card, is pretty well spoken and has worked very hard in her life to be in the position that she is in currently. I have a ton of respect for her and all that she's accomplished.

I personally have no problem with a female president. I think that the US is ready for a female president or a president that is of a different color.

I currently do not see any viable female candidates that are in the running or players. So, I'm not going to name names.

You are right that some countries would likely not respond well to a female leader. However, other countries have had female leaders like England. I guess that they will just have to deal.

There have been numerous female leaders in our world, and many currently. No one refuses to meet with them because they are female, that notion is ridiculous. Picking a President by their gender is more than I can do, though. I can't even feature the question phrased that way. Do I think Hillary Clinton is suitable for the Oval Office. Yes, I do. Do I think Condi is? No, I don't. If Bush and Cheney were lost in a tragedy after January and Nancy Pelosi rose to the Presidency would I be afraid or think we were in trouble? No, I think she's very competent. But what I will not do is vote for Hillary simply because she is female. Those who vote or don't vote for her on the basis of gender alone have oatmeal for brains. If another candidate convinces me that he is better for our country than Hillary Clinton, he will receive my support. Foreign countries have long been used to females in positions of power, it is the United States, supposedly so progressive, that still seems to have a childish issue with gender in the Oval Office.

I have no problem with it.
Some countries might not take a woman president seriously due to their lack of women's rights and cultural beliefs,
I however, will not vote for Hillary Clinton, simply because she had stated months ago that out-sourcing hurts the US economy, then turns around now and says that if elected, she'll support it. Now, I work in a job that requires answering phones, and when I get a call, usually from someone with a heavy accent from India, I cannot understand a word they're saying. We have enough problems with illegal immigration and keeping the true unemployment rate for our own citizens in check. We don't need to be handing out jobs to other countries, when there are plenty of people who need jobs here.

many countries have already employed very effective female heads of state. The UK had Margaret Thatcher in the 80s, for example. I certainly believe the US is due for a strong female President. The only ones with even a remote chance at getting any votes is Hillary Clinton (Dem side) and Condi Rice (Rep side). Rice already said she is not interested. Clinton has already taken steps toward the White House. Neither would win in the general election, and not because of their gender but because of their unpopularity.

Hilary Clinton! I love her, and I think she would have a lot to say. I think having a female president is definitely needed- or a colored male or female president- just something different. Every president we've had has been the same, even from similar backgrounds. All white good-looking males. I'm serious about the good-looking too- we've never had an ugly president. People pick cute people.

A lot of people are opposed to having a female president because females are "emotional" and tend to think with their hearts rather than brains- which is bad for decision making supposedly. My opinion- look at the world right now. We need emotion. We need to start listening to our hearts more often. Our country is in desperate need for compassion- and who better to bring that than a woman? A woman president is what we really need in times such as these. And I pray to God we get one in my lifetime.

well i don't really know because i don't know of any that are running and i'm not familiar with any female politicians that have good views. All i know is that HIliary Clinton is no go for me. I'm not a bill fan and i think any first lady should not be able to run. same for if a women was president i think that should make her husband not eligible because some one gets 2 terms and you thinkj that if the spouse has views and options that the other doesn't know or take them into consideration. electing hiliary would be about the same as giving bill 2 more terms.

Denmark, England, Austrailia, New Zealand,

They all have had female prime ministers, and their countres are doing just fine. I think it will be a good change, men have been in office since the start of our country, and not trying to offend, but look where it's going, maybe a change wouldn't hurt.
