a map is not liable for anything. As far as viability for property ownership one has to go by the "plats" on records which are consistent with the original cadestral maps when the land was surveyed..

I would think a map would not be legal. It is a representation of an area. The legal description of the property is the best representation because it gives the most information.

an official zoning map can have legal weight.
