I could answer that sw has the force, Empire has more impressive fleet and the death star special mass destruction weapons.
ST has all-powering energy super-beings with unmatchable powers.
But it's impossible compare two fictional universes as they were two real ones. Fiction and storytelling have their own rules.
So:
1) in SW main characters (goods and villains), not-Jedi/sith also (eg. Han Solo, Boba Fett) are true heroes able to defeat hordes of foes. In ST they are just above standard (excl. Data).
Common people in SW are awfully bad: storm trooper swarming in a room hit nothing !
2) better special effect are, less power has technology: blaster shots are slow, very slow (you see them coming!) and are single-shot mode (no strafe), in st(original series) personal phasers can disintegrate large objects and can hit an area or more target in one shot.
For example ST:NG would portrait a more advanced technology than original series, but it sounds very much worse if you consider real effects.

Well see Star Trek is much more civilized... they'd probably try to negociate everything... they're kinda like the U.N. Now Star Wars is gritty!! They go to effin WAR! So my money's on Star Wars.

Does this include the Star Trek spinoffs. Not that it would really matter. Star Wars would win easily:
1. The Force
2. They don't have to wait to load the photon torpedoes
3. Sheer numbers.
My only concern would be the Borg (fromTNG)

Umm, Star Wars is fictional and Star Trek is real, so Star Trek would win, because fact always beats fiction.
Plus, Roddenberry ROCKS, even from beyond the grave!

i hate this question. Trekkies think the Enterprise is so awesome, but all it has is some photon torpedos and some laser beam thingy. A squadron of TIE fighters could take it out. Also, the Enterprise could be pulled into a Super Star Destroyer by tractor beam. Now, the Borg are interesting, but a couple Ion cannon blasts could easily disable them, then they're toast. You don't even need to bring the force into the picture. As Vader says, "All too easy."
