Ok, so I have minimal facial hair, but enough where it grows everyday and noticable, hence, i need to shave for work, but when i look in the mirror, i see all these red lines and bumps, and its annoying and horrible looking. How do i avoid this? I shave in the shower daily, i use very hot water, i use nivea shaving cream and after shave, and i start down and then go up, im following all the right procedures to avoid razor burn, but its still occuring. I think its because im using a 5 bladed razor, and it grows back so whiskery that it automatically gives me the burn because my hair doesnt grow quick enough or thick enough to actually get the smoothest shave, but there has to be a solution, any ideas? thanks

I used to have this same problem, but I found out I can't use a straight razor on my face and neck,(those disposable razors), so I got an electric shaver and haven't had the problem since.

Try using an electric razor. That way, you aren't scraping the skin. The razor that I have dispenses soothing gel as it shaves and that has helped my razor burn/bumps a great deal!!

And, in spite of what my dad had taught me many many years ago, do NOT shave up. Yes, I know it looks better but you pay for it in skin irritation and bumps.

sir i am a woman and have this pbm unfortunately due to a hormorne imbalance. but with the right stuff no one knows. i still be called pretty (smile) this is what you should do:
use an exfoliate scrub a mile one. use that in the place of shaving cream. trust me it might be a little messy but the exfoliating is EXCELLENT! YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE. also i would recommend anything that has microbeads in it. so go in the section with the girls shaving stuff and see if you see a creamy exfoliating shaving creme then if you dont try st ives facial scrub mild or regular. oh and use noxema and rinse with cold as your final washing and let air dry if you have the time then dab with witch hazel. let me know if this works for you. i have more beauty tips. i treat my sweetie to them all the time and he gets so many compliments. :)

shave down only - don't go up - EVER
also, use hot water on your face but cold water to rinse the razor - do it at the sink instead of in the shower
