you need to go to the maneger of the store to ask for the job. ( i would know because i was almost on e of those models for gap: )But be careful you will sometimes spend more than 200 dollars on your wardrobe. No, the company doesn't give you free clothes if you model for them.

Check around to see if there are classes in theatre, dance, things like that. Find out how much they cost and prepare to help with the cost via extra chores, babysitting, etc. These classes will help with poise you'll need for modeling. Then see if there are modeling classes in your town - the dance/theatre teacher might know of some. Take it very slowly and don't sign up with the first company that offers you something because there are HUNDREDS of scam "agencies" and other bad folks who know how badly teens want to model, and they will scam you and your parents out of lots of money. Do your homework when you find an agency or modeling class - look them up with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office of your state to make sure they are on the up and up. And number one, most important, don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't model if you're chubby, or that you should lose 20 pounds, because that's a bunch of bull!! America is getting bigger, and there are companies springing up to market to them, and stores like Lane Bryant and Avenue need models that are a realistic size. I'm not sure about Limited or Gap, but there are companies who will hire you. Whatever you do, don't start dieting at age 10 unless your DOCTOR tells you to.
Good for you. Take it slow and careful, and good luck!!

if you really want to be a model, then i suggest going to a store that you know you will have a better chance at getting a modeling 'job'. as for the chubby part, i suggest taking up cheerleading or gymnastics. let me tell you from experience, i keep in very good shape doing cheerleading.i can even almost do my back tuck. YAY!

First, I would definetly tell the parents. Then you and them should look on the internet and in magazines (Seventeen, Teen, Teen People, Elle Girl, etc.), for modeling agencies. You would have to also go to a photographer and make yourself a photographic porfolio, with a resume etc. You can also try entering beauty pagents for your age group. I hope it helps!

i know that it's something that u wanna do, but it's a rip off. it's not at all how ppl make it sound and u don't really get much cash for it. if ur even berely overweight, theycriticize u to try and crash ur self confidence so that u think that they wanna help u. u don't get free clothes or makeup, just the team to do it for u. they r very picky in their models and put their hands where they shouldn't sometimes. trust me, drop it.

They won't hire you if you're chubby. That's their problem, not yours. Terrible how they expect models to be skinny little twits. Basically, you need to go to a professional photographer (with your parents) and have a model portfolio made, then see about getting an agent.

Well, I know how you feel. I want to hair model, but sorry kid, people don't want chubby models. I'm sure you're very beautiful, but maybe eating less chips will help. Ask your parents about getting an agent.
