According to the doctors pregnancy wheel, i am 4w6d pregnant. i first tested positive on December 10th, three days before my period was due. My 1st beta, today, was at 246 and i am scheduled to have it again on wed to see if they are doubling. My nurse at the office says this puts me around 1-2 weeks - which boggles me becuse ive already had the positive tests before my period and all the charts i find are conflicting, that the 200 range is normal for being around 4 weeks. does anyone have any advice on what to think? i lost a baby in july at 8 weeks (blighted ovum) and this whole thing just keeps me on edge. i want my 3 year old to have a sibling!! serious answers only, please... if you've had experience with your betas in this range before at x number of weeks?

4 weeks pregnant actually indicates a 2 week pregnancy. They count from your last menstrual period to get the 4 weeks but your baby is actually only 1-2 weeks old, which is probably what she was talking about.

My 4w 4d week hcgs were 293. By 5w 5 d, I was at 10,000. Keep calm and wait for the next results.

Your embryo usually implants around 8 days after ovulation and starts producing HCG in small quantities that quickly start to double into huge levels. Home pregnancy tests detect very small amounts of HCG so it's possible to get a positive result days before your period would be due. By the time you miss your period (usually around 14 DPO - or four weeks since your last period), your HCG level is generally around 100 but could be much higher or lower. The actual number isn't nearly as important as how quickly it doubles. Betas that double too slowly might signal that something is wrong with the pregnancy (blighted ovum or tubal pregnancy) but successful pregnancies have been seen even when betas double much slower than "normal".

You'll know much more about the health of your pregnancy after your next blood test.

Good luck!

The number is certainly quite low (given it was 73 four weeks ago), perhaps do another HcG count in couple of days to see it is increasing at all, and if so, how quickly. Some women do have low HcG levels and still go on to have successful pregnancies, but need to make sure hcG is continually increasing (not decreasing, which unfortunately is also a possibility here). Good luck.

I am in the same boat as you. I have been trying to conceive for over a year because my 4 year old daughter really wants a sibling and finally started my first IUI cycle this month. I just took the pregnancy blood test today and the RN called me with my result. I have a positive beta of 32, very low so she wants me to go back again this Friday. At least I think your number is much better than mine. My nurse told me I shouldn't get my hopes up yet until my blood result on Friday to see if it double. I will keep my fingers crossed for both of us.

There numbers are man-made and computer read. Relax. Who REALLY knows how far you are? Stressing will only hurt you. I continued to have a negative hcg. Finally on 12/3 I had a positive urine after having a negative blood on 12/1. I was that convinced that I was so I did the urine. By Jan 3, a heartbeat was heard. You can only hear a heartbeat at about 10weeks. So how is it that I had a negative blood test on 12/1 yet heard a heartbeat 4wks later? Who knows? All I know is I have a beautiful, healthy, precious little girl.
