At the end when Monty's (Edward Norton) father is driving him to prison and his father talks about driving to another town and starting a new life.Does he really do it or is he just dreaming.

I think the movie left this as an open-ended movie! It appears he was dreaming, but Spike Lee could have been giving us a glimpse of what his life ended up being like once he moved to the new town to start over! I liked the way the movie ended because it left the audience to draw their own conclusions!

What a great movie though.
