A Hash is a unique Checksum, that identifies the file(s) in your Torrent.

If a file is corrupt, then the Hash won't match with the Hash provided in the Torrent file, and BitTorrent will redownload that file.

If the test on a file gives the correct Hash, then the file is OK.
