The hardmen would feel right at home in the Serie B.
Not as fast, athletic and trained as the Serie A but passionate and play hard to win.
Though I don't know what they would make of Juventus playing them with ponytails etc.
Under today's rule the hardmen would not have enough players to field a team. Under the old rules Juventus would run out of strikers :-)

Todays footballers are stronger, faster, quicker along with a bigger ego and play more as individuals
1970's and 1980's footballers were more dedicated to team work rather then on their own selves, plus they also were more loyal to the fans than todays footballers,
Todays players would lose against 70's and 80's by a whisker even though they are superior, because they would play as individuals rather than as a team

I'm a lifetime Steeler fan. I've met a few of my heroes. They would get punished by today's bigger, stronger, faster players. Jack Hamm & Lambert were two of the biggest bruisers of their day. They would have a tough time stopping LaDanian. Even poor modern teams like Cleveland have Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow Jr., the 49er's have Vernon Davis... these guys have speed unheard of in the 70's & 80's. Look at Troy Polomolu and Brian Urhlacher all that muscle AND speed. Wow.

Football is starting to change alot from the 70s and 80s so its getting harder and harder to compare. Now the guys are making the game alot more physical than is was in the past so i think they would be more likely to win. after all all you got to do is give the ball to a player like Zidane and let him dribble though all of them

The footballers of today would be too soft to even head the old, solid leather laced-up ball of years ago, especially after it had been kicked around in a mud-bath, weighing what felt like a ton.

Assuming you turned the rules back to 70s/80s not very well. Having said that its the modern (almost no physical contact) rules that encourage the modern player to dive about like an auditioning ballerina.
