No doubt yesterday's loss was one more nail in John Fox's coffin as the Panthers' coach. At best I predict that Cowher will sit one season in "retirement", before he not only calls North Carolina home but also his place of work.
Go Steelers!!

You need to consider that his wife and last remaining daughter living at home have already permanently moved to their new home near Raleigh, and they also have a summer home in NC, and in case you haven't noticed, there is tension between the Rooneys and Cowher, and he hasn't accepted his usual extension of contract. He wants out of Pittsburgh.

actually if he did step down as Steelers head coach by NFL rules he would not be allowed to coach until the 2008-2009 season so Carolina would have 2 hold onto John Fox at least 1 more year

invoice Cowher will be good the position ever he coaches, yet do not anticipate miracles. adult males grow old and the expertise that the Panthers have is skinny in spots. Cowher would elect years (3-5) to construct a crew like the Steelers. What John Fox did replaced into good yet only a flash interior the pan. The Steelers are consistent crew on the right!

Bill would not walk from the Steelers to coach freakin' Carolina, or anyone else. Maybe he'll retire in a year or two. Weisenhutt and Grimm have both been courted by other teams but stayed put. Either will be a super replacement when the time comes. I love that my Steelers have had two coaches in my 36 year lifetime. Team policy has always been we don't negotiate during the season.

He better not coach Carolina I don't approve of that lol I think if we don't make it to the play offs this year he will hopefully coach the Steelers for one more year. So I don't know I mean my family has a second home in Raleigh too but I still call Da 'Burgh my home it can't be replaced.

The chances of him coaching Carolina are doubtful at best. Why would he throw away 15 years of loyalty to a great football team and family? If he does indeed retire and decides to come back it will be with the Steelers.

If thats the case, i hope he goes to the Panthers.
Because then John Fox can come home and take over for Colonel Coughlin for the New York Football Giants.

i am a huge steelers fan also and i think that art rooney will get bill back for another couple of seasons. He will not go anywhere i mean the steelers have had two coaches in what 30 years? there is no way the steelers will let him go and if they do then they are making one of the biggest mistakes in their franchise history.

the man still has 1 year on his contract with the steelers. if that were to happen, i'd love to have john fox as our new head coach of the atlanta falcons since we have a whiner/back-stabber (wanting to take the washington huskies job) rather than have an NFL job, jimmy mor(on)....

Oh, I wish he would go to NC State as their head coach. That is his alma mater school and God knows they could use him. But I don't really think John Fox is going anywhere right now. He is a good coach.
GO NC STATE WOLFPACK !!!
