Belochka, I would have no hesitation accepting anything you personally say as the question/statement of yours is a very mature, well written and well argued one. I accept all your points. The problem with us parents (and in my case grandparent) is that we know our own children and therefore we judge all young people as we judge them. This is wrong and each should be judged as a specific. If you accept my argument, you must agree that some of the infantile questions on this site are totally immature, misspelt and very stupid. I am not saying that adults do not do the same but I think you understand what I am trying to say. Finally, with senile dementia and failing memory, people like me, being 66, are quickly treated very much like that which you describe so in another year or two I may be writing exactly what you say but as a sad old man................. Take care, and stay young as long as you can, God bless................

The older you get the more you forget.
Also the older you get the more experiences you have and the more your views change. That happens throughout your entire life. What you feel now isn't necessarily the way you will feel in 2 or 10 or 50 years. That is what is meant by them saying you are too young. It isn't youth, it's inexperience and the inevitability of you changing the way you think or feel about everything.

Yes you are immature... just because theer is more information that you have ready access to than any generation before, dose not make you mature... that comes with life experience and that comes with age... most adults do understand because we were "kids" once... and we now know just how wrong we were then...and we see you doing and saying exactly the same wrong things we did "back then".... the smart kids listen and learn from the mistakes of their elders when they are told by "adults" that something is wrong and has always been wrong when every generation befor tried exactly the same things...The smart ones try not to repeat the same mistakes their elders did... and how do youknow what those mistakes were?...by listening to your elders...Unfortunatly too many "adults aint learned those lessons yet either... so you need to Think and Observe as well as listen... you, ultimatly, are the one who will have to make the decision... and you will make a lot of wrong ones...the more wrong ones you make the more "mature" you will become....IF... you learn from them and strive not to repeat.

I'm a young adult and I understand kids.... afterall, I was a kid a decade ago.... and I have a younger brother.
PS: the kids of today are VERY immature because the type of media they are exposed to makes them feel very matured.
and compared to other Kids around the globe.... most (not all) of the kids in North America are very immature. don't worry you'll see why when you're older.

It seems to me like you are a self-confident, intelligent and
curious young person. Your parents did good work. Now they are
afraid you could be hurt. Life is hard.
It´s your right to make your own experience and you will, your
parents can´t avoid and they know it´s time ...
They don´t think you are immature and believe me, they understand their child more than any other person does.
They just want to protect you from - whatever and telling you
"You are too young to understand" is because you cornered
them with your arguments, right?

Because adults have been there and done that so thay most likely talking from experience... But if you are ready to make your own mistakes go ahead the learning experience is much more sweeter...

i agree too, they think that teenagers these days or in general are insecure, and aren't as responsible so they generalize and discriminate, it's frustrating
