While in Scottsdale, during the day you can do some great shopping in the Scottsdale fashion square. Check out the LUSH store, they have great bath products handmade and smell awesome, nice for a hot tub at night.
There is a good sushi bar my husband and i like, we usually go to the one in Tempe,it's called Ra and you'll find one in the old town Scottsdale as well, between 4-7 they have happy hour and good discounts. We also like PF Changs a good Chinese place. When being in Scottsdale pick up a free newspaper New Times, you'll see them everywhere, they have great ads for good dining places as well. Maybe a trip to Phoenix zoo, sounds good to you, it;'s about half an hour drive, take the freeway 202 south and you'll find it. Enjoy your visit.

Along with some of the other suggestions, you could also take a day trip to the Sedona and Oak Creek area. I've never been there during the winter time, but it's a beautiful place regardless. You could also make your way to Mill Avenue in Tempe. There is some pretty good shopping and dozens of bars since it's located right off the ASU campus. As for dining and clubs, Scottsdale is the best place to be. Although I don't get to that side of town much, I do enjoy Old Town Scottsdale and the Biltmore area. I hope this helped. Have a good time!

How about spending a day in Grand Canyon. Sedona is a nice place to visit, too. Old town Scottsdale has a lot of restaurants and bars to go to.

My husband and I used to go to this wine bar in Old Town named Kazimierz. It was a very relaxed atmosphere (candles, comfy leather couches, fireplaces) with an extensive wine list and very knowledgeable waitstaff.
While we lived there, my husband taught at Scottsdale Cullinary School. They have two restaurants and serve incredible food. If you want to have an excellent multi-course meal you should try their L'Ecole restaurant. Service is by reservation only though. They have a more casual dining restaurant which I believe is called L'Acadamie -- it is more bistro style.
Have a good trip.

YOU ARE COMPLETELY STEALING MY VACATION!
my husband and i are going to phoenix in march, we are also going to a suns game and doing some other stuff. we are taking our daughter with us, so the stuff we have in mind is going to be completely different. you may want to go on a hike because there are going to be some beautiful palces for you to see. rent a car and go to the grand canyon. vegas isn't that far either. you can take a mini vacay to vegas too. have a blast. i know that we will. watching steve nash run up and down a court for an hour and a half is vacation enough for me! :-)
