Last night i turned of my Jeep and i heard a humming coming from the fuel tank. It seems the fuel pump is not shutting off when i shut the ignition off. I disconected the battery to keep from running it down. I looked in the chiltons manual and i couldn't find any information about a relay switch or fuse for the fuel pump. The fuel pump works but seems like a switch is stuck open. It is a carburated straight 6 1989. Jeep Cheroke Pioneer.

Out under the hood, probably on the right (passenger's) side, close to the hood hinge and the heater box is a black electrical component box. You will find the relay inside.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas

It is the fuse box under the hood. Check your owners manual for exact location. Also sometimes the relay is labeled on top or under the fuse box lid, but need to look closely as it is in the black plastic and difficult to see.
