I thought it was the fuel filter at first so I bought a new one and that didnt work I put my hand over the breather and it idles fine with my hand over it and when I take my hand away it dies so I unplug the MAF sensor and it starts up and idles fine and when I plug it back in it dies. What do you think?

Testing of the MAF isn't done with an OHM meter. It is done with PIDs to and from the PCM. The MAF sensor receives a reference voltage from the PCM, and sends back a voltage to the PCM based on the volume of air it measures.
It is best that you either purchase the repair manual for the car, or go to the library and use the manuals they have on the shelf. You will get a much better result that way.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Before testing I would buy a can of cleaner designed for this purpose and clean the MAF. If not improved then proceed with testing or take to a mechanic and pay to have them hook up their scanner to your OBD outlet. The it is computer talking to computer and they can get a lot more information that you can just by reading codes. the scanner they use can cost up to $5,000 each.
