I have a few questions about tampons. I used them once so far, and they worked well, but it was unconfertable. My mom said I just need to put them higher, but they won't go. Like... Could I still have my hymen? I'm 13, So that mightttt be possible I guess, but it just feels like it needs to go higher, but it won't. Also, after less than two hours, the tampon leaks to the pad. Is it possible to have a heavy period at only 13!?
Thanks a ton!

I think your hemen will broke without noticed with your period. If you want to proud that you are a virgin with hymen. Should not used it.
Sit or stand in a comfortable position. Some women prefer to place one leg on the toilet seat or tub, while others prefer to squat down. After you find a position that is most comfortable for you, hold the tampon with the fingers that you write with. Hold the middle of the tampon, at the spot where the smaller, inner tube inserts into the larger, outer tube. Make sure the string is visible and pointing away from your body.
With your other hand, open the labia (the folds of skin around the vaginal opening) and position the tampon in the vaginal opening.
Gently push the tampon into the opening, aiming for the small of your back. Stop when your fingers touch your body and the applicator, or outer tube, is completely inside the vagina.
Once the applicator or outer tube is inside of you, use your index finger to push the inner tube (the tube where the removal string is connected) through the outer tube.
Once the inner tube is all the way in, use your thumb and middle finger to remove the applicator or outer tube. Make sure that the string hangs outside of the vaginal opening. Later, when you are ready to remove the tampon, hold the string and gently pull it downward until the entire tampon is out.

Use a really small tampon with a plastic aplicator (such as Tampax Pearl), that will help get it in the right position. If you do have heavy periods, you may have to change it more often, but once you are more comfortable using tampons you can upgrade to a bigger size. I don't recommend OB for an inexperience person. Your hymen is too far up to have anything to do with your tampon. Also, look over the instructions included in the box, they really do help.

Of course you can have a heavy period at 13! As for the tampons, maybe you should try a different brand. I use o.b., I like the fact the open at a 360º for more coverage. But, they don't have an applicator is the only problem. Good Luck!

The tampon is not in enough Relax and put one foot on the toilet seat. Aim the tampon toward spot where you spinal cord meets your tailbone. You may have to put some lubricating jelly on it if they helps you get it in the first couple of times. You should not be able to feel it if if is in properly. After a couple of tries, you will be great at it. In answer to your question about a heavy period at thirteen, generally not, but it can happen! Good luck!

If you can feel the tampon, it means it is not in correctly. If inserted correctly you shouldn't feel it at all. Hymen should really have nothing to do with it. And yes, you can def have heavy periods at 13...i did at 11. good luck, you'll figure it out, it took me a few tries myself.
