So I'm african american and I've never been able to find make-up that matches my skin tone even closely. I usually have to buy 2-3 different colors and just mix them to get something that looks natural. I have scars from acne and chicken pox that I cover up too. So I'm wondering how I can find a good shade that will not require me to mix a bunch of differnet colors. I think it's because I don't tan easily and anything exposed to the sun is darker than anything not exposed so I have a hard time trying to match my different skin tones. I'd say I'm around a light-medium tan. Most people say I look bi-racial(skin color wise) but I'm not.

MAC makeup go to a Mac makeup counter and let the makeup specialist match you up perfectly. I had that issue all my teen life and half of my adult life . Until 2001 I found out about MAC makeup and I love it I purchase the NC45 Studio Fix foundation blend powder. It matches better than Mary Kay , Fashion Fair or Maybelle . The makeup costs about 25 dollars with tax its 26 and some change. Try it and you will love it what do u have to loose believe it works I have been a loyal customer 5 years and it hasn't disappointed me yet my mom now uses its and she was loyal fashion fair customer and she sees the difference Fashion fair leaves you looking orange like Arizona red clay. An Mac leaves you looking flawless and natural and it blends so well. Stop going to the drugstore for cheap makeup its your face spend a Lil extra for you face so it will look Good and you can be happy and not self conscience of if your face looks a hotassmess from cheap foundation or powder. i buy expensive makeup for my face and cheap lip gloss , Rimmel eyeliner and brow makeup and mascara.. An for my beauty regimen i use Noxzema and Gris is Pearl soap soap sold a t Walmart . Just try and see an I guarantee that you 'll love it and never go back to the cheap stuff ever again.

There are several products that are made for darker skin tones, but most women are stuck with the color blending trick that you already use. If money is no object, there are several companies that will custom color mix for you, and just for you, but your talking hundreds of dollars for one bottle of foundation! Try Sephora on-line, and see Iman, and Bobbi Brown's make up line, you will most likely find a match for your skin tone there. Figure on spending between 50.00 and 75.00 dollars per bottle however.
Cheaper choices are...Loreal's has a new line, high intensity eyeshadows, foundations, that are pretty dark.
