My husband goes to Vegas for a 3 day convention every year in January. Every year I go with him to Vegas.

This January he plan to only go if I want to go along. I will be 9 weeks pregnant when his trip to Vegas would take place.

At the convention center there is no smoking allowed and we could avoid the casinos since our hotel is not in one.

Should I go to Vegas when I am 9 weeks pregnant? Do you think its a bad idea? Vegas is fun for us even though we just sight see when we are there.

I think you'll be fine. You've already considered the main problems (smoke and alcohol). If you have a plan to avoid the cigarette smoke I am sure you can have a great time even without drinking or spendng a lot of time in casinos. I don't like the casinos either because of the smoke, but I enjoy Las Vegas anyway.

I don't see why not? As long as you don't drink any alcoholic beverages and don't hang around smokers, you should go and have a good time! have fun!

Personally, I wouldn't go anywhere REMOTE like to some third world country during the first trimester, because you want there to be a good hospital nearby just in case. But Vegas is a big city with good faciities, etc. Also, you don't want to take a long plane trip during the first trimester just in case you should need sudden medical care, but this shouldn't be a problem. Ask your doctor to be sure.

As long as you understand and avoid the risky situations, there is no reason why not. Lots of shopping and sightseeing opportunities.

You need to also be aware that restaurants in Nevada do not have smoking restrictions except that they must provide non-smoking sections. Unfortunately, second hand smoke cannot read signs, so even those non smoking sections can still carry lots of harmful particles in the air you breathe.

I live in vegas and i'm also prego. It's fine, don't go out drinking and try to avoid those rude ppl as far as them blowing smoke in your face, more than anything it may make you a lil sick since your senses are alot stronger now. But go ahead and stay safe have fun

I went and I was about 16 weeks pregnant! It was great fun! We hardly went to the casinos and I had my fill of walking for long stretches at a time. I think you will be fine go and have fun!

Why not? It sounds like you're already conscious of avoiding second-hand smoke and that's really the main problem I can think of. There is a TON to do and walking is so good for you when you're pregnant.

Besides, think of all those fantastic all-you-can eat buffets!!

I think you should go as long as you are staying away from smoke and not drinking. Get a little vacation in there before you can't travel due to your pregnancy.

Sure, go, have a good time. Ask the doc about anything special you may need to do if you need to fly there. Also, of course, try not to eat or drink anything you normally dont, just incase you might get sick from it.

Go, have fun. If you're not drinking and can avoid second hand smoke there is no reason not to.
