I take it you mean wireless...

Type you routers ip address in yoru address bar, log in...

Then find a page with WEP or WPA on it.

That will be a kind of password you use to connect to the net. Once you put it reconnect to the router. you will be asked for the "key", once you put the "key" in once it will be remembered. Then your router will be secure.

WPA is the best security at the moment.

I suggest a firewall norton. But if your like me I dont like to pay for things, Then I suggest Zonealarm at zomealarm.com try the free firewall it works on my computer great.
