Yeah it is true that the guy they arrested was a special constable and is a taxi driver.
BUT REMEMBER INNOCENT BEFORE PROVEN GUILTY! He has not been convicted yet and even the local Ipswich prostitutes don't think he was capable of doing it!
Rape is not really common though it does happen, but there are things you can do to protect yourself like gettting a personal alarm and not walking home alone at night or in quiet areas. Also a woman should not get into a taxi alone and at night anyway especially if it isn't pre-booked. You just have make sure you stay safe.
Its not new news that any man can potentially rape, the law recognises that even a husband is capable of rape; rightly so.
But remember few men are rapists and in this case the rapist probably has a dislike of woman which he is expressing by killing women that are prostitutes.

As I understood it, and I may be wrong, there has been no evidence of rape, or even of some sort of brutal attack prior to the murders, so where is your question coming from?
There are relatively few murders in this country, which is not to diminish or belittle, in any way, the importance of each one. Of course they all matter enormously, and it is particularly horrible when several people appear to have been killed by one person.
Since there are relatively few murders, I wouldn't worry too much, and would suggest that taking normal, sensible, steps to keep yourself safe will do exactly that.
As to his work - are the police (including special constables) or taxi firms any differently special to you or I? Do they have some magical process that excludes people who may break the law occasionally?
If your question is about rape all the above equally applies. Be sensible and you will be unlikely to suffer attack, but do be aware that those thing do happen.
The man who has been arrested doesn't need a trial does he? You have decided his guilt already. Are you lining up with the people in this forum who are going to volunteer to torture him to death? We live with a lot of nutters in this world.
Are all women men-haters? I don't think so, but you seem to have real difficulty with men. I feel sorry for you.
And now the police have arrested a second man. What position are you now going to adopt?
I really am not picking on you, or, in any way, minimising the pain, horror and offensiveness of these crimes. I just happen to think that calm behaviour by everyone is likely to be much more productive, and find and bring to JUSTICE, not MOB RULE, the offender(s).
Thanks for your mail, I won't divulge what I see as confidential information, but would hope that you manage to find resolution, and a less difficult attitude to men in general.

Special Constables are unpaid, part-time volunteers, usually used for large events; football matches, rock concerts, etc. Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are paid employees. They have been introduced by the Government to try to fool the public into thinking that they are as effective a presence on the street as Police Officers, and are saving the public money as they are apparently cheaper than Police Officers. However, PCSOs have no power of arrest and are not trained in the theory and enforcement of the law are Police Officers are. They are there to make the Government look as if they're investing in law enforcement, but the money spent on them would be far better spent recruiting, training and - most importantly - retaining and rewarding the existing Police Officers.

Saying that all men are potential rapists because some of are is like saying all women are potential axe murderers because Lizzie Borden was - ridiculous. Most men are NOT rapists or serial killers - they are definitely an exception to the rule.

People like you make me laugh - jump on the media bandwagon why dont you ??? He is a SUSPECT and therefore not charged with anything as yet. Phew - lucky the death penalty isnt still around - people like you would have this bloke dead and buried by tonight. As I understand it he USED to be a special - which isnt a policeman either - he now works in Tesco and part time as a cabbie

he didnt rape them, he just strangled them, i asked a question about this the other day and almost nobody replied. i know this is so scary, but yeah, people like this is everywhere in the world, i mean this man is not just a ex-police officer and taxi driver, he is also a brother, a son, nephew, cousin even perhaps a father, it makes you wonder?
do u know what else is so weird? one of this killers victims names, is the same as one of the rippers victims names, now, back then they thought they had an idea of who the killer was, and they didnt really, so who says they have got the suffolk killer?
i just got a feeling this suspect they have is just that, a suspect

You are scare-mongering. Let us all wait for the outcome of these investigations by the authorities before casting aspersions and tarring all men with the same brush eh? I totally agree with STARLET10 on this.
