Nothing wrong with asking for a little help when a life is at stake. But you should be willing to put up the cost of getting you off that mountain.
Why should the taxpayer pay for your adventurous nature. You want to risk you life, you pay for that risk.

I'm in the nearest city to the three lost hikers and when they are lost, injured or otherwise unable to find their way down we should look for them. We've lost the husband of a family and possibly three more hikers in two weeks and that's too many. You can't get yourself down if you are dead either. Imagine what your families would go through if you died on a mountain and no one went to find you or no one recovered your body. How about injury. If you were injured on a mountain would you then think it's ok for no one to come and help you. I think not.

The obvious answer is no, because as the person is lost, they can not rely on themselves to finish the trek they started, that is why we as tax payers pay those who come and save us,, no matter how good of a climber or hiker a person is, the elements are always changing, if your kid, or loved one was up on that mountain, would you then stop the rescue people and say let them do it for themselves?? ----NO--->i hope this helps all that reads it, good luck.
