Ok...so i forgot to take my birth control the other day and i was just going to double up the next day. So i had sex with my boyfriend...and i forgot to take the 2 pills the next day. The doctor told me that if i miss more than 2 pills that i would have to wait another month to start a new pack. But now i am having cramping and lower back pain like i am going to start my period. Could my body be thinking that it is time to start....or could i be pregnant. the time that i missed my pills were a week from when my period ended...so 2 weeks from when i started. I dont know what the hell is going on here!!

If you are more than 12 hours late taking a pill, you just skip it, and take the next one at the normal time - don't double up. If you are less than 12 hours late, then take it as soon as you remember, and take the next one at the usual time.

Missing pills during the first week after a period has the highest pregnancy risk. You may have ovulated, and so will not be protected by your pills until the egg has been shed in your next period. You can continue taking the pills as usual, but use a backup method of contraception until after your next period.

Missing pills, even just after your period, can bring on more spotting and cramping. I start getting cramping if I'm more than 10 hours late taking a pill.

Take some advice from someone who knows...I was on the Ortho pill, and I was very forgetful about taking them, and I would do the same thing you are doing right now, "doubling up"....THAT DOES NOT WORK!!! You will get pregnant if you keep doing that b/c that's what happened to me. The more pills you miss, the more likely you are to ovulate and become pregnant. The worst times to miss pills are in the first or third week of the pack, or starting a pill pack late. Missed pills can also cause spotting or breakthrough bleeding, even if you make up the missed pills. You may feel a little sick to your stomach on the day(s) you take 2 pills to make up for any missed pill.

On my pills it says when i'll stop taking them in the middle somewhere, I will get my period, because the pills control your hormones, and if you stop taking them, your hormones start a new cycle right then. I don't think you are pregnant yet, because the pills were still controling you the time you had sex. But If you don't want kids, i'd say use other protection for a while, then when you get your cycles back to normal, start taking the pill again? Unless u decide to go to a doctor and ask him. Really hope this helps.

I cannot understand why women who think they are responsible and mature enough to take BC pills but are not mature and responsible enough to educate themselves about them and stay with a schedule.

If you miss a day, you DO NOT double up. You skip that pill then continue taking the next days pill on schedule. Then you wait for another 2 week to engage in sex.

Ur assume 2 take both at the same time as u word i have missed the days and at the same time as u get waiting 2 take ur third one, basically take it on time like u would if u hadn't missed those 2 days. yet yeah, u nonetheless can get pregnant....and the trick about birth control pills, u have 2 take them regular @ the same time 2 not get pregnant. for instance, if u take a pill @ 3pm on Monday, u have 2 take it regular @ 3pm, u cant take it @ 3pm Monday and then 5pm on Tuesday and then Wednesday u take it @ 2:45pm...u c what im declaring. My known practitioner instructed me that, and now that i imagine about it....it makes proper experience!

When you're on birth control, you still have the side effects like your on your Period! (Like when it is that time of month) I don't think you have anything to worry about!!
