Good question, but in order to answer your question, intelligently,
we will have to define which genre of books are you referring to,
fiction, non-fiction, prose and poetry, documentaries, science,
science-fiction, romance and adventure, action-adventure,
historical, biographical, geographical, educational, architectural,
art, meteorology/climatology, marine biology, oceanography,
vulcanology, eco-environmental sciences, etc.

I read a few books now and then, but my overall favorite in terms of fiction is Margaret Mitchell's "Gone With The Wind" her
tour de force with Civil War Atlanta, Georgia's plight, families
upheaval and tribulations, the emotional turmoil of one southern family, and how they dealth with outer and inner issues, all quite revealing by the author.
I rated this book with five *****

We have any many writers on the market, but not many great writers who have the sensitvity to feel her character's insights
to their own emotions and how best to deal with them.
Margaret Mitchell was one ot those rare breed of women who knew how to express her thought patterns and projections to
all her readers, and did it with alacrity and vision.
Mrs. Mitchell had a keen sense of ESP and knew how to tap into
that cosmic force that some of us are privy to.
This book when made into a movie was a rare success, indeed.
Hollywood got it right, and GWTW has been a smashing
success ever since its original release date of 1939.
The only other movie to knock it down to #2 is the movie "Titanic"
James Cameron, director, 1997 release date.
The market receipts on "Titanic" are well over 3 billion dollars world-wide, a ton of money, you might say, but when you do a film project right, good chraracterization, excellent story-line, good wit and script lines, you usually come up with a winner or a
blockbuster.

I have a list of other best books to read, but that would really get involved and I don't think I should get into that, right here and now..

Thats my message. good luck.
