My son is 6 months old and of course he can't pull up yet but we, my husband and I put him in our lap and take his hands and show him he can stand by pulling on our hands. One other thing is to show your daughter she can do it by placing her by a chair and making her do it. To be honest I didn't think my son was ever going to roll over but after showing him several times and practicing it over and over again, He can now roll from front to back and back to front very well. I guess the key is to show the child that they can roll over, sit up, pull up or what ever by first showing them they can do it and then practice, practice, and practice some more! Good Luck!

I have been a mom for 27 years, I have 4 children. In addition, I have been a licensed home daycare provider for 20 years. There are general ages when babies may reach specific milestones, such as pulling up, but you must remember that they are just guidelines. Every baby grows and develops at his own speed. If your daughter is not yet crawling or pulling herself up, this is not cause for alarm. She will learn them on her own and there is no need to help her learn how to do them. Between 9-12 months is a common age span for babies to learn these things, but there are some who crawl and walk earlier and some that crawl and walk later. My own youngest daughter did not crawl until she was 1 year old, but got around by scooting on her bottom. She did not walk alone until she was 15 months old. My middle daughter walked at 10 months. My tip is to let her learn at her own speed and don't rush her.

Teach her to use her legs, when shes laying on her back grab her hands and help her from her knees up. She will catch on pretty fast. She needs to build leg muscles to support herself and this is a great way to teach her.....once she realizes her upper body strength can also help her get to where she wants to go, she will put two and two together and be doing it real soon :)

First be patient. Was she born premature? Is everything normal with her check-ups? I got my two to crawl by putting them on their hands and knees and supporting them while having someone encourage them to come to them. I also am a godmother to two special needs babies, they were born at 28 weeks, so they didn't learn to crawl for a long time, and one of them would 'army crawl' for everything. If there is nothing physically wrong with her, then it just might be lack of interest on her part. Give it time.

I helped my baby learn to crawl by putting a new toy or a toy she likes in front of her just beyond her reach. After she moves and actually reaches it, I move the toy just a bit farther so she knows she has to move more to reach the toy....

I bet that by the time you receive all your answers here, she will already be pulling up, it happens quickly and often unnoticed! My son pulled himself up the same day he learned to sit alone, so please please put the crib bed on the lowest setting now! keep those rails up and just assume she can already do it, because you will be surprised!

you can use pillows to support her while she sits, you can put her in a crib there she will try to hold and stand up. use colourful toys to attract her while you stand few feet away from her, try to get her to reach the toys. it works for my son!
