hello,
I am 23 years old and started my cycIe when I was 12yrs old. I have had an irregular cycle since my cycle began. But from may 06 to oct 06 it was extremely regular. It always last for 5 days, but the frequency is what varies--maybe every other month or every third month. Oct 17 was my last regular cycle. For november, it didnt come. I have taken 3 pregnancy test and all were negative. Finally Dec 15, it came. Dec 17 it ended. It was lighter than normal, but definitely more than spotting. The night before it came, I had nausea, a headache and some cramping in my left lower abdomen and I just felt sick! I usually never experience those symptoms with the onset on my cycle. However, I did have some cramping a few days before it came...which is normal for me--that cramping wasnt just on one side, like it was the night before it came. I'm not too concerned about pregnancy, because I havent noticed any pregnancy symptoms. I do have an MD appt tommorrow, but I need some advice please

This sounds like PCOD or PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) to me. Of course, I can't diagnose you, but Google PCOS and see if you have the symptoms. Being on birth control regulated me and I felt much better. Hope that helps.

Your doctor will be able to help for sure. However, I wouldn't be too worried. I have and an irregular cycle since I started at age 13. I am now 26. My cycle is irregular most of the time, and regular sometimes. I don't think it's anything really serious. My doctor told me that women who have irregular cycles, are usually irregular until they have a baby and then they become regular. So, I'm probably going to be irregular until I decide to get pregnant. Good Luck!

I was going to say go see a doctor, but since you're doing that...I really don't know. It is NOT normal at all to be irregular for over 10 years. Usually if it's irregular at all it evens out after a year or two. Could be hormone problems, could be endimetriousis, could be cancer for all I know. Hang in there and get to dr. If the cramping gets bad today or tonight try a heating pad.
