It would take a global realization of everyone that we all need to get along, regardless of race, religion, or political belief. Tolerance and understanding of one another is the key.
It would also necessitate the elimination of our view of social structure, which almost universally incorporates some form of a hierarchical society, all of which induce a sense of competition with one another. This, of course, promotes the less than desirable traits of jealousy and greed, which people act upon with less than honorable tactics. I am not saying that everyone is bad, but power, greed, and jealousy do corrupt the mind.
Of course, this would have to happen world wide. Sadly, an undertaking of that magnitude would take an effort of, literally, biblical proportion. While I am not a religious person, I would love to see nothing less than a wold at peace. Unfortunately, the action required of such an undertaking would doubtfully be peaceful as, most likely, it would require the elimination of those who did not want this peace, as they would only continue to incite the hate and violence we have today.
Bottom line, it would take a major shift in worldwide attitudes toward politics, religion, economics, and each other, it would have to happen all at once, an it would probably have to be an event analogous to the biblical Judgment Day.
