what would you call this story and would you read it?

its about a guy who goes to antartica and he accidentally falls deep down into the earth and descovers a world full of ice creatures

it sounds okay for a younger kids book.. i would call it "pookie and the underworld" sorry if that sounds kinda mean.. w/e

well, i have no idea about the whole plot, and it sounds kinda cheesy...i might have read it when i was 8 or younger...
