It may work for a while but the water will eventually break down the glue, use aquarium sealant or 100% silicone that you can get from any Lowes or Home Depot type store.

Actually the glue is safe so you wouldn't have to worry about any toxins, but like I said it may break down and wouldn't hold the divider in place.

properly, do no longer do it with water or fish interior the tank except you opt to kill each thing interior the tank. 2nd of all, you do no longer use glue in a fish tank. you utilize silicon sealer in particular formulated for fish tanks (non-poisonous), that's the comparable belongings you locate that seals the sides of the fish tank. you will might desire to eliminate all fish and embellishes and punctiliously empty the tank of all water and punctiliously dry it out. decrease the divider to length and use the silicon sealer as a glue to look after the divider into place. enable 24 hours for the silicon to treatment and the vinegar smell to bypass away. Slowly pour water into the tank and verify for any leaks contained in direction of the silicon seal. in case you notice water seeping through, empty the water returned, dry the tank, and reseal returned. as quickly as you have a stable silicon seal, you are able to placed each thing back because it grow to be.

Nope, don't use glue. Toxins, as you say.
Use 100% rubber silicone, let it dry for 24hrs, and it should be perfect.
