x^2/6 + y^2/4 = 1

This is pretty easy to figure out. The center has to be (0,0) because the x-intercepts and the y-intercepts are symmetric about the origin (0,0), and therefore the intercepts themselves must be the major and minor axes.

(x - h)^2/a^2 + (y - k)^2/b^2 = 1

(h, k) = (0,0)
a = sqrt(6)
b = 2
