My sister got a hamster;
it's big, unlike other small hamsters i;ve seen...
anyway, we just got it and all...
Hamster's name is Viking, because he
loves to climb the cage bars and fall.. -_-;;

today tho, i see him stuffing his cheeks..
He sleeps now, a lot, in the corner//
Do hamsters hibernate???
(cause if so...i didn't know they hibernate..)

Ok so i've had a hamster before and they are nocturnal and mine did seem to prefer the corner and they store food in their cheeks then take it to their nest (corner) to eat some and store some for later.

they don't hibernate they sleep during the day and are up at night they stuff there cheeks with food all the time and so you want to make sure to not give them food too often because they will just keep eating.

Hamsters stuff their cheeks so they can soften their food. They keep it in little pouches in their cheeks so their saliva can break down and soften the food before they swallow it so it's easier to digest.

They do sleep alot..well at least mine did. I think it's pretty normal..especially if it's a younger hamster.

Hamsters sleep a lot and are nocturnal, meaning he is most likely up and running while you both are sleeping. HTH
