I got the Mirena IUD 3 months ago. Over the past month my face has been breaking out pretty badly! I have never had acne before. I read that the IUD can cause acne. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is anything I can do for it or will it clear up on it's own?

I have the same issue as you. I use Benxzoil 10% wash and lotion to clear it up

I have the same problem, but it was more from NOT taking the birth control pill than using the Mirena. The Pill reduces the acne, and when you change you birth control regimen to a form that doesn't release hormone into your bloodstream the acne comes back.

I had mine put in 1.5 years ago and I had awful acne - even on my back but I am happy to report that I don't get any acne now - it took about 6 months for it to go though - shock to the system after being on the pill for 10 years! My periods stopped completely so it was well worth the spots!!!

yeah I got the mirena put in in 2001 after my son was born......acne, weight gain that I couldnt lose for anything, extreme moodiness, and just plain, well problems down there ( prob TMI, but i was always wet, and after 3 and a half years a non existent period) i got it taken out and well lets say there is no downtime when getting on another form of bc...was preg in 4 mo.......

I have had Mirena for 6 months and have not had any side effects. Other then spotting off and on.

ideal now my pores and skin is totally clean, for the 1st time in 3 years. that's been approximately 9 weeks and all my zits is long gone. that's this variety of friendly feeling to awaken with clean pores and skin. Holistic zits treatment representative?
