AS LONG AS THE BABY IS IN THE CORRECT POSITION YOU CAN TELL WHAT THE BABY IS WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT FIVE MONTHS. AN ULTRASOUND IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT SO I RECOMMEND ANOTHER ONE LATER IN YOUR PREGNANCY JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE....BUT ABOUT 5 MONTHS IS WHEN YOU USUALLY CAN TELL

The best time to tell a baby's sex is after delivery when you look between the legs, or to have an amnio, that's the only 100% way to tell. But on an ultrasound the best time to tell is after 20 weeks of pregnancy. So for all the ladies if you want to know your baby's sex scedual your ultrasound for after 20 weeks. I had mine at 21 weeks 2 days and it's a boy! He spread his legs wide open and grabbed himself we also got a perfect shot of the whole package. It helps when your baby is cooperative.

The sex of the baby is detemined when you are about 16 weeks along. However, at about 20 weeks is when you can tell by ultrasound.

My friend went to the ultrasound and was told a girl. Gave birth to twin boys. Not what you want to hear but it's better to realize modern medicine isn't 100%. Generally after the baby is 5mo. you can get an accurate answer. If they say boy that's easy. Girls are harder to be sure about. The twin thing because one hid behind the other & the hearts were synched. Kind of cool. If you are really needing to know I say wait till 7th mo & it will probably be obvious.

They are able to determine the babys sex as early as 16 weeks, but the be more accurate and definite 20 weeks is the best ...also, it depends if the baby is cooperating. :)

at the 20 week ultrasound they can check for the sex but depending on the baby's position they may or may not be able to tell.
