i am entering university to study either biochemisrty or biotechnology, do you know how good at maths you need to be.

Both of those fields do not use much math at all, so you are in the clear! At best, basic calculus would be used but today's biotechnology (and biochemistry) fields utilize computer programs that do the math for us.

Fields like Biophysics and Bioinformatics on the other hand can make use of very advanced mathematics.

biochemistry and biotechnology both require a certain proficiency in math. Biochemistry requires a knowledge of enzyme kinetics which requires a considerable amount of background in derivatives and calculus. Biotechnology is likely to touch upon bioinformatics which requires statistical analysis, so you need statistical knowledge.

OK so you got two bad answers - they answered the wrong question !

yes there will be a math requirement in your course load required to graduate - easy to find out what from University it does tend to vary but plan on advanced calculus

Not sure about other countries, but the US requires calculus in most of their Bio degree programs. You don't necessarily have to be great at math, but you must earn a C or better in each course in order to get credit for them.
