Great stocking stuffers for 1 years old would be to go to McDonalds and buy a few of the under 3 toys. Also books are a great gift for kids because it helps them become smarter kids and it's great quality time with you and your child. I would lay side by side with my kids and hold the books in the air so they could see and we would read book after book together from about 6 months of age and on. Now they are 10 and 8 and both in the Gifted program at school! Read to your kids!!!!

A ball that's small enough for them to throw, but too big to put inside their mouth.
A small stuffed toy animal (no pieces like buttons that come off.)
Any small hand-held toy that makes a sound when shaken.

Cute little rattle-toy, little stuffed animals, maybe a new binky if they're using a pacifier still.

I think you can get him or her some rattlers (baby toys, not snakes) or new clothes, such as cute little shoes or bibs. Also, babies like pacifiers, which calms them.
