Hi. I recently purchased the new 2007 Torched Penny Scion xB and it has a simple/general security system. Anyways, my friend had her car keyed a while back & she didnt have any security system at all. Then she got some lettering put on both rear-back side windows that reads, "Protected by V-Cam Security". Now these are just words to make people believe that her car is security protected and that there are small hidden cameras on her car. The system isn't there, it not a reality, and it's just so people stay away from her car and she hasnt had anything happen ever since.

Do you think this is a good idea? I don't wanna pay so much money for a high-tech security system but i want my car protected from keying, vandelism, etc. Thanks for the answers...

AND DONT MAKE FUN OF MY CAR!!!! lol

I too have an xB, and, during the worst of the high gas prices was afraid of theft, since the thing gets about 34 mpg.

I have the ultimate theft deterrent... a decal that says

D-I-E-S-E-L on the back.

Best wishes!

Are you in a high vandalism area? if not, then your friend was probably keyed by someone she knows who does not like her, or maybe by someone who thought she did a horrible job parking her car (by blocking theirs). Personally, I wouldn't go so far as to put lettering on the car indicating you have a security system that you don't actually have.(is that really better than a key mark?)

You have a very nice car!!! If I were you, I would have that same thing put on your car to be safe. That way you don't have to pay for nothing. Sense no one messed with your friends car,I would tell you to go for it. Have fun with it so no one messes with yours. Good Luck!!

Give it a try. It can't hurt, and might stop some people. Remember locks are made just to keep honest people honest.
