Is their a hormone condition that causes stretch marks?

I've heard something about this but i am not sure if it is true, please do not list all the other causes of stretch marks,i know them all.

Some doctors feel that hormones can cause stretch marks. The stretch marks related to hormone activity mostly happens during:
pregnancy
natural growth during teen years
rapid weight loss or gain
depression
nutrition deficiencies
sudden changes in environmental conditions
steroid medications

These factors cause the skin to produce insufficient collagen and elastin- leading to the break down of the connective tissue which is what causes stretch marks. They start deep and gradually work up to the skin's surface.
