Cranium! Awesome game! It has it all, charrades, pictionary, spelling, trivia, clay - and every year a booster box of questions comes out to keep it fresh. The best part is there is a catagory for everyone, not like some trivia games that make kids feel stupid if you dont know the answer. It's a game that my entire family plays teams with on the holidays and my kids play it with their friends too. Just be ready for a lot of laughs and smacks to the forehead "DOH!"

I would think 13 is old enough for any of the family games. Get her something you played as a kid and make it a mother/daughter thing

A really fun game is Would You Rather. It's tons of fun. I know someone who is thirteen and loves it. It's fun to play with her friends.
Another good game is Scene It Trivia. There are many different themes to choose from. I personally love it!

Ouija
Monopoly
Risk
Chess
Magic...not a board game...but still
Don't dumb it down with horses and girly girl crap.....you want her to grow up with enough intelligence to fend for herself...not be some retarded house wife who depends on her husband to buy her porcelain horse figurines.

If she likes card games, I would suggest Uno Attack. That game is a BLAST. I love playing it. Clue is a fun game, so is Mouse Trap. My friends and I play those games all the time, and we're in our 20s and up.
