I have an injury on my face that is turning all shades of purpule and yellow and it's really nasty, how can I reduce the swelling and the ugly colors?

Seems to me you have a bruise and it's healing, theres nothing really you can do. Try taking a bath and letting your face go under the water to soak it. Also try a cold green tea bag on the spot or ice. In the end you just have to let it heal in it's own time, but you can try putting concealer on it, to make it less noticable. I hope you feel better. :)

i think of you mean swelling. you're in simple terms going to must wait and notice and look ahead to it to circulate down over some days. i'm guessing you have a lump and a few bruising? ideally, putting ice on it right this moment is the terrific direction of action, yet i think it must be slightly overdue for that...

The Homeopathic Remedy ARNICA works the best on Blue Black injury marks in bringing down the swelling and the pain and healing the injury quicker, without any side effects or complications. I would suggest you take it in 200 potency three times a day half hour before meals. 100% relief within hours of taking it.
Take Care and God Bless you !

Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do. If the injury is still pretty new, apply ice to it for a while. That should help with the swelling some.

im guessing you have a bruise? sounds like it is already healing if it is yellowing, the yellowing from blood of the bruise breaking down. i dont think there is really anything you could do. ice probably wouldnt help anymore (only would decrease blood flow to the bruise immediately after the injury) but you could try, youre probably just going to have to give it a week and let it go away on its own

Ice pack---if anything, a bag of frozen peas will do the trick.
That's about all I can suggest, keep ice on it but don't freeze your skin--you can damage the sensitive skin on the face.

in most cases, the best cure for swelling is ice. unfortunately, it's not 100%. any purple/blue/black colors are probably due to blood from a burst capillary. that'll just need time.

First of all...

Are you ok?

Secondly,

What casued it? Is it a bruise?

I'd go see a dermotologist or call them at least...

But they say putting a cold steak (not frozen) helps cool and sooth a black eye.

This might work too.

EEEEK Good Luck with that.

I think Ibuprofen should help with the swelling, and some of the reddness....
