Hola morenita, This is what I think. If you know that person very well and the friendship relationship is very strong, I don't think there should be any problem. Now, I will not recommend that you just go around asking everybody "are you gay?" because it's not your bussiness, really... There is a moment and a place for everything you just have to figure it out. Good Luck!!!

No! If you feel you need to know, why not ask? I'm a straight woman and when I was on the hunt or maybe just kind of letting people talk to me, I asked questions! I do not have a problem with asking questions. If the man thinks that I'm asking too many questions and gets upset, to me that tells me he has something to hide. I am not about it! OK? I want what I want. And trust me girlfriend, I now have it! 6 ft 1, high yellow brother, with a BIGGGGGGGG well you know! And he is treats me like a Queen! So if you need to know certain things, by all means ASK! Because if you don't, and then you find out later what you could have known from the beginning, you're just going to wind up kicking your own @ss!

Generally you can just ask if they have a girlfriend OR boyfriend this question always alerts the person that you are questioning that you are broadminded enough to accept the answer.

Many folks don’t want to know,
and sometimes announcing one self as being gay is looked upon as “pushing your lifestyle” on other folks.

If it is a girlfriend of boyfriend yes for sure ASK.

MANY gay men and women have married with the hope of becoming straight. Usually this does not end happily.

If you are looking for a girl go to PlanetOut.com its a gay/les/bi/tran personals site and also has a bunch of other like reviews and cruise info. It's all around a pretty cool site. But if you don't like asking people, you should go somewhere where you know what thier sexual orientation will be (ex. gay sites, gay bars)

Dance around the issue. If you are interested, then you can ask questions concerning their concepts of same sex marriage, or Ellen D., Rosy O'Donnell, etc. This allows you to test the waters before jumping in. Sometimes they will volunteer the information without you having to ask.

Yes, it is. Even though some people don't mind, I wouldn't like anyone asking me. I'm simply not comfortable about answering that question to strangers. I think you should try some other method to find if they are interested...

No, just do it casually. Or, bring up the topic and state your sexual orientation first and see where it goes. Usually you can tell when a girl is in to you so it wont be that wierd.

It's kind of a personal thing but it would depend on how well you know the person. I never ask or assume. I figure if a person is comfortable enough with me they'll tell me.

It's a personal issue, and yes, I think it is rude. There is no polite way to ask, so unless you're getting hits on your gay-dar, don't ask.
