i go to court tomorrow for 2 thefts totaling 3grand, and a burglary toataling 900 dollars, plus 2 counts of filing a false report. i have never really been in trouble before, and my public defender said that the burglary will be the hardest charge. i applied for pre-trial diversion, and i wont know until tomorow if i get it. when i commited the crimes i turned myslelf in and i wasnt even wanted, i had a guilty conscious. i am a straight a college student and have been for three years. i am bi polar, plus i had an alcohol problem. i spent fourty two days i jail before i made bond. basically tomorrow, i go to court to face four charges, and see if i get probation. i live in tn, and i know laws vary form state 2 state. most people believe that since the chares were not violent, and no weapon was used i will get my pre trial or alot of probation. i am really scared please if there is a lawyer or anyone who knows about this stuff, let me know something. email me too.

Actually, you are likely to get 6 months to 1 year jail time, plus a few years probation. They /might/ suspend your sentence, or part of it, but that isn't likely. I strongly suggest you listen to your public defender. He/She practices in the area where you are charged and knows the judges well. They will have the best prediction of what is to happen.

You said it yourself, you need a lawyer's help. So why are you wasting your time on Yahoo Answers? Go talk to your PD...he's the one that is representing you, not anyone on here.
