I have 4 tats and 1 daughter. My daughter hurt and my tats didn't. Actually, tats can release the same endorphins that drugs release so it can actually feel good to people. Eg, me. I don't mind getting them and they are addicting in a way...that's why MOST people don't stop at one.

First of all tattoos don't hurt. That is a silly question because child birth is said to be one of the most painful experiences in life. I didn't think giving birth hurt all that much. In fact I found giving birth to be a relief.

I have to say my tattoo because when I gave birth to my son I had an epidural. Which the epidural really really hurt. The birth of my son ended with a c-section and with all the meds, I was very comfortable. Personally, between the tattoo and the epidural I would rate them equally except for the size of the tattoo which the pain lasts longer.

Baby birth definitely. Baby birth is over and done though. A tattoo's pain can last for days.

i have two tattoos and i am 33 weeks pregnant. i imagine the burning associated with getting a tattoo could be similar to the burning associated with the stretching of the vagina and dilation of the cervix. getting a tattoo the burning can be pretty painful sometimes, it may not be as bad as cild birth but im sure what you feel while getting a tattoo is similar to the pain you feel while in labor.

I had easy labors with my children, but the 2 tattoo's that I have didn't really hurt that much either. Getting a tattoo is like being annoyingly scratched until the artwork is done.

I've done both only once. I'm expecting my second baby in May though. I'd say that childbirth wins hands down. There aren't any words that can desribe that pain whereas you can say that with getting a tattoo its like getting pricked with a saftey pin over and over.

I haven't had a tattoo, but I guess it depends on where you're tattooed.
Personally, childbirth was no big deal because I had an epidural. The most painful part was the magnesium sulfate drip I had to get afterwards because I was pre-eclamptic. (I wanted to gnaw off my own arm!)

Childbirth, baby! Although, in childbirth, you can get an epidural. With a tattoo, you have to gut it out.
