Not only guilt, but what if someone saw this happen and took down your plate to leave the info on the car that was hit?
There probably isn't anything you can do about it now but if you believe in Karma...the next frustration you have could be the payback.
Btw, no, I'd not drive away...but then, I've been driving a very long time and have 0 accidents, 0 fines and 0 car run ins...I was taught to drive by my father who started his career as an ambulance driver and then as a cop so it's the last rank that keeps me straight :)
Where I live if the "thump" happened in the parking lot of a store or mall...cops won't even bother with it and the damage if any has to be over $1500 but I guess morally....
Someone hit a car in a parking lot a few cars down from me one day...it was a classic car, about 25 years old and mint...the guy was in a beat up old truck and pushed the car ahead about 4 ft...good thing another car wasn't in front of it. I took his plate, description and description of the truck because of the value of the car and the strength of the hit...I'd hope someone would do the same for me. I also had a brand new car, only 2 weeks old get front ended a week before Christmas one year...never found the driver and ended up with a $3000 repair, car was never the same. So I know what's it's like and wouldn't do it to someone else, regardless.

If there was no damage then I guess it was okay, not to beat up on you (sounds like you are doing a good enough job on that one), but I would have left a note, it is actually illegal and there may have been some internal damage, if you got the plate number you should be able to track them down.
I am sure if you called the cops you would not get in any trouble but you can't do that without a plate number..sooooooo.
It is eating you up so next time damage or not, leave a note w/your number...
Alot of places have security cameras too, your life would have been easier if you had left your information. I have done it many times...(not a great driver) and leave notes, never heard from anyone, sounds like you are a good person, most people would do nothing and not give it a second thought...
it's over now, relax, just do it differntly next time....good luck.

If there was no damage, there should be no reason to feel guilty. But, I did the same thing once and it came back to bite me in the ***. Apparently someone saw me do it and knew the guy that the car belonged to. They reported me to the police. They pointed out a part of the vehicle with damage that I had not been responsible for. I ended up paying the guy $100 to forget it because I didn't want legal troubles. So, I kind of got manipulated out of $100.

Lol....you did the right thing. If there was no damage then no probs. Your guilt however makes me think there was damage. In which case you broke the law. You need to call the police and explain what happend and see if anyone filed a report. They will understand and put you in touch with the person if there is a report. Better to go to them before they come to you.

guilt is probably eating at you because your guilty of a hit and run no mater if there was minimal damage a scratch or such you still need to inform the other driver be responsible and do the right thing no matter the consequence no body likes to hear this but that's the bottom line of guilt

If there was no damage, why did you drive away? Guilt is eating you because you know you should have at least left a note and leaving the scene of a crime is wrong.

You feel guilty because you didn't follow through in taking responsibility for something you did. You should have left a note for the owner of the other car in case there was some damage you didn't see. Ask yourself, if you'd left the note with your phone number on it, and a short apology, wouldn't you be feeling better?

I did that a few days ago in the morning when it was still dark. No visible damage at all. Don't feel bad about it. Nothing was damaged, so nothing needs to be done.
