You can really make it any length you'd like. Personally I like long scarves because you can wrap them several times around your neck when it's cold, or (and this is my favorite trick) fold it in half, loop it around your neck and then pull the tails of the scarf through the loop the fold has made. Because of doing this, I tend to make my scarves around 6 feet long (and I'm a 5'6" woman)
It's really up to you and what you think he'll prefer. Some people like shorter scarves because they don't hang and get in the way. Think about what settings he'll be using it in (as in, is it a nice scarf he'll wear to a dinner out or something he'll be wearing on the way to work) and decide from there.
Hope this helps!

The length of the scarf is not male/female dependent. It is up to the designer for the length.
If you were a tailor and custom fitting a scarf for an individual you would measure from the back of the person and have your customer hold their arms out. Then measure from wrist to wrist. This is a good proportion for whomevers body type you have.
Best of luck.

Scarf length is personal, but if he has some other scarf that he likes, you might measure that one and make yours the same length. Another rule of thumb is to make it as long as he is tall, which gives you a nice long scarf.

Same length as all other average scarfs. Just take one from your closet and measure the size. It doesn't matter if it's for a male or female.

The standard length for a scarf is 5-6 ft, or about the height of the person wearing it.

When I make scarves for guys I make them longer, like 72". This way if they want to double it up and put the ends through the fold they still have a good size tail left.

It varies. Three to four feet oughta do it. Anything much longer he could get snagged on something.
