The reason why the Braves were so successful all those years was due mostly to great starting pitching. If Hudson returns to past form, Smotlz keeps doing what he does, Hampton comes back strong with Chipper Jones staying healthy I would say they have a great chance along with the young talent they have been developing on the farm the last few years. Georgie Porgie was probably saying that about the Braves while they were winning their division as he sounds like a Braves hater. I believe that the Braves will be more determined and focused than ever and give everybody hell. World Series bound!

If the young guys (Francour, LaRoche,McCann etc.) continue to improve than we got a good chance. We will need Chipper and A. Jones to stay healthy and produce. We also have to solidify our starting rotation and find a closer. The Braves always have a good chance of winning the penant and I think this year is no exception.

I'd love to see it, I think our chances are far better this year than last since we now have a solid closer in Bob Wickman. Our bullpen blew 19 Saves before we traded for Wickman, imagine if he was there and pitched like he did the last half of the season? He would've converted 18 of those into Wins and we would've taken the penant for the 15th straight year.

This pitching staff isn't ready for the big time. I like their bats. I've become a BIG fan of Brian McCann. Having said that, They're about to lose Andruw Jones to free agency, which will hang over the season, and even the Phillies did more to upgrade their arms than the Braves. They finish no higher than 2nd in the division.

I can't say that they will win the W.S. but I think that they will win the pennant. Pedro and Glavine are getting old and hurt so the Mets can't rely on them. Delgado and Floyd are injured a good part of the season. Reyes is good when he is on base but he wasn't consistent to get on base. Wright and Lo Duca are the only ones that you can really rely on and you can't do that the whole season. For the Philies, Burrell and Rollins aren't AVG guys and neither is Howard. McCann is on the verge of winning a batting title, Francueor could lead the league with HR's and(or) RBI's and if both of the Jones' stay healthy who knows what they can do. Don't even get me started with Smoltz. A potential Cy Young if the bullpen can help him along with the rest of the starting rotation. GO BRAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to see it. And it's not impossible. Look who has been in the World Series the past couple of years. Detroit came out of nowhere last year, and the White Sox the year before.

We still have plenty to address this offseason, though. We need another starting pitcher in case anybody gets hurt. We need to plug somebody in in place of Giles now that he is gone. This can be filled by either somebody in our system (Kelly Johnson, Willie Aybar, Martin Prado). And it would be good to find a lead-off hitter, perhaps one that could play left-field or fill the hole at second as well.

On top of that we have to hope that Smoltz puts up numbers as good as next year, Hudson rebounds, and Hampton is healthy and pitches well.

It's a young line-up but with plenty of pop. Andruw, Chipper, McCann, LaRoche, Francoeur... let's go for it!

The 2007 Braves are going to the same place they went this year: No where. The Mets and even the Phillies are better. Stinks to be a Braves fan these days. :P
