you can take a pill up to 60 days into your pregnancy, i believe. She should talk to someone at an agency like planned parenthood about her options. There is lots of available info on their website, plannedparenthood.com whether or not she chooses to go through with it...she should talk to SOMEONE. they usually make you go through counseling sessions if you decide to abort the baby

There is a pill called RU-486 or mifeprestone that you can take to induce a "medical abortion", which it just makes a woman get her period, it stops the placenta from working. This is only possible to do within the first 8 weeks of pregnancy, after that a real abortion must be performed by a doctor.
This pill is readily available at abortion clinics and planned parenthood and quite legal. The cost varies between $300 and $600.
Ignore the people saying the pill is bad and can cause bleeding for a month and other things. This is not true. It is like having a miscarriage. Yes it is painful, but it doesn't make you bleed for much more than a normal period because it is done so early, it's just a bunch of cells and very very very tiny.

The abortion pill called cytotec is safer and less traumatic than a surgical abortion. The pill is taken by insertion into the vagina. After a while the woman has a spontaneous abortion (miscarriage).
Planned Parenthood has the abortion pill it's less expensive than the surgical aboriton. You can take the abortion pill up to 9 weeks pregnant.

The abortion pill is not something you just swallow and the pregnancy goes away. It just kills the baby. You need to have an operation afterwards at a hospital to remove the baby. The options she has largely depend on how far pregnant she is. Whatever she does, she must do it under a good doctor's supervision and in a hospital, or her life and her future health will be in serious danger.
The morning after pill is totally different, and it is what it says, taken the morning after sex, so before being pregnant.

I know there is - the abortion pill... there is vacuum abortion (which is exactly like how it sounds... pretty self-explanatory) and there is the chemical abortion, I believe... (which is also self-explanatory). I'm not sure of any other ways, except for the abortion method when the woman is further along (which is when they use tongs and GRAPHIC INFO AHEAD: crush the babies skull and then pull it out).
Hopefully she chooses NOT to have an abortion... but it is her decision. Good luck to her either way she chooses.

You should try google. I don't know alot about the different methods. There's surgical, and the abortion pill (causes misscarriage in an early pregnancy) but as for how it's done, or the laws in each area or what gestational stage the fetus must be in I don't know.

plannedparenthood.com is a good information resource, and you can find locations nearby with their contact information. make sure to tell her to be careful about where she goes, because there are many "crisis pregnancy centers" that are run by extreme pro-life activists that give inaccurate information about what your options are. i don't know much about the pill, but there is a certain time frame for it, so if she wants to take that option then she will need to make an appointment soon. if there's not a planned parenthood nearby, then tell her to make an appointment with a gynecologist. best of luck.

There are 3 diffrent kinds of abortion. I however would tell her to not get the abortion pill, cause it can make you bleed and have painful cramping for a month or so plus the pill has a higher death rate then a medical abortion.

I would recommend calling Planned Parenthood in your local area and making an appointment to speak to a counselor to discuss the options available. They do not judge there and only help you make the best decision available for you.
