Unless you are sure of what you are doing, or qualified, I'd strongly recommend AGAINST opening the back of any CRT. The transformer steps up the voltage to incredible amounts, and should you touch the wrong thing, it'd be plenty bad.

You do not attempt to open a monitor. You may not be able to repair anything. The monitor or display of a computer is the primary user interface. Monitor problems are some of the most common computer problems since the voltages inside a monitor can be as high as 10 KV. Many of the problems can be fixed yourself by simply changing the settings.
